Karnal police launch free night pick-and-drop facility for women

Keeping in view the gruesome rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad and also to ensure women’s safety at night, the Karnal police have initiated a special service for women in distress at night.

They will extend pick-and-drop facility to the women whose vehicles either break down or fuel tank becomes empty at night. The service will be from 9 pm to 6 am.

Directions have been issued to all PCRs as well as the four vehicles of Durga Shakti, said Surinder Bhoria, Superintendent of Police (SP).

All police stations have been instructed to take the calls related to women safety at top priority, he added.
