Monisha is a college dropout who found her calling in candid photography. An invite to a friend’s wedding resulted in her capturing some great shots and made her think of taking up photography seriously. Shruti, an MBA in Financial services was working in the mutual funds market when she realized that she wasn’t happy with her job. One fine day she quit and after thinking things through she got intrigued by photography. She started clicking pictures now and then until she realized the need to get professional training. Neha is a Mumbaikar, who went to England after her schooling and finished her graduation and Masters there. She started working there at a children’s day care centre there. It was there that she started taking pictures of children and got involved in candid photography. Soon she started getting requests from friends to cover weddings or to take pictures of families. It was in 2011 that she went commercial and has never looked back.
For Neha, photography is about communicating and connecting with the families involved in the shoot. Once she’s part of the wedding, she connects with the family personally and that works really well for her. Also, capturing ‘in between’ moments that are emotional is her forte. For instance, she would love to capture the bride’s mother getting teary eyed on seeing the bride ready for the ceremony.

Barnali Kalita at Burn Pixels
Barnali is an MBA who had a career switch in 2010. Post which she moved to Mumbai and joined an advertising production house where she learn the nuances of filmmaking. That’s when she picked up her first DSLR camera and started off as a street/ travel photographer. Gradually she started shooting people quite a bit and progressed to wedding photography. It was the next natural step forward since it’s all about capturing the moment and people with real emotions. She founded Burn Pixels in 2012.
She believes in bringing out the story behind every wedding she covers. Her work is natural, free of any gimmicks. Also the compositions are clean and easy on the eye. A lot depends on the post processing of photographs that she believes in doing herself.

Meenakshi is a BTech in software technology who nursed a passion for photography throughout her college years. It was at her best friend’s wedding in 2010 when she got hold of a camera and went about clicking pictures while balancing high heels and ‘sari’. The pictures turned out quite good and she was quite amused with the entire experience. This was also a time when candid photography was just taking off in India and it turned out to be the game changer for this techie woman!
