Don’t take your “kaam wali bai”for granted!

It was raining heavily. I was already late for office. Its 10 AM and pyaari (my maid) has not arrived yet. I just called her up.

Me: Pyaari itna time hogya tum ayi nai abhi Tak.

Pyaari: Bhabhi ji aaj na ana hoga hmari tabiyat na theek hai.

Me: Pyaari tumhara roj ka hogya, mujhe office bhi jana. Tum jaise marji aao nai toh koi aur kaam dhoondh Lena.

I cut the phone with anger and start preparing breakfast. Door bell rang, It was Pyaari. As I opened door Pyaari was in very bad condition. She was beaten by her husband very badly.

Me: Pyaari yeh haal kisne Kiya tumhara

Pyaari: Bhabhi ji pati ne sharaab peekar bhut peeta

Me: Toh Pyaari tum doctor pe jane ki bjaye yahan Kya kar rhi ho(forgot I told her to come)

Pyaari: Bhabhi ji na aati toh aap kaam see nikal deti, Ghar kaise chalta Mera.

I felt guilty. I gave her money and sent her back to home.

I cried  badly how I had taken her for granted who helped me in my needs.

We have to believe that kaam wali bais are those angels who make our lives easier at cost of their health and life.

We can call them “Calm wali Bai” because when everyday early morning the door bell rings they come with a ray of happiness. This  calmness no one else can give  to a housewife or a working woman.

I feel a sense of relief when I see my maid daily morning. I believe it is Bai only not our horoscope which can determine sorts of day.

Our maids always wake up early in the morning to come to our homes. They ran against time and do their household chores, get their kids ready  and prepare food for them.

Most of the maid’s husbands are alcoholics, abusers and do domestic violence Still they manage to come for work with a smile on their face. Sometimes she gets mistreated by her boss also but still she do all the chores happily.

We forget the fact that she has made our hard life easy. While we pursue our dreams and ambition without worrying because our kaam wali Bai is settling everything.

We should never take them for granted.
